Vegetarianism.. Who knew it could be so healthy! September 5, 2008

This is perhaps one of the happiest days of my recent life.. Why you ask..
Well let me share my joy.
I just left the Doctors Office.

My weight                 174…           Original weight 186
My A1C                        5.8             Original A1C    6.2
My blood Pressure 119/83          Original B/P  158/88

My Cholesterol Numbers
Bad Cholesterol         105             Original Bad    198
Good Cholesterol        44              Original Good    22

meaningless to you dear reader perhaps but monumental to me.   How joyful I am that I chose to change to vegetarianism. It has turned my numbers around and with the weight loss I hope to achieve I believe I will have my life back.

I sit here with tears in my eyes and a joyful heart because I have come so far.
I can not even begin to express how wonderful my heart feels..  Those of you who know me know that my Mother died at age 69 from Diabetes complications, and I have been struggling for the last 3 years to get my numbers in control as I was also heading for an early grave… Nothing worked absolutely nothing until I became a vegetarian. and to show you how quickly it worked in four weeks I went from that 198 bad Cholesterol to a 119 bad cholesterol and it lifted my good Cholesterol from the dismal 22 to a 29

six months later and my good cholesterol is in the 44 range which is healthy.. Normal .. Where it is supposed to be.

And my A1C is headed down too.

Pardon me while I do a HUGE dance for Joy… Insert Magneato doing the TUNA Dance

Okay Back to your regularly scheduled cat posts!

Annie, this is great news! You're a great example of someone taking their health into their own hands and not leaving it in the care of the medical establishment. Congratulations!

Annie! You not only have a way with cats, and words, you have a way with self-revitalization. May I have this dance with you?I'm so glad you are feeling better. Your heart is smiling. This is a great post. Did your Dr. give you a sticker? A lollipop? I eat vegetarian a few times a week. If it were only up to me, I would be completely vegetarian. Someday.
