Kitty Comes Home July 31, 2008

Bongo finally got released back into the outside world. I opened the door to the bedroom where he was staying and then the sliding door to the back yard. It took him all day to get his nerve up to make his way through the house and out side but he finally did. I waited all the next day with trepidation hoping he would come back for some food. I kept looking and looking for him and finally thought I would have to give it up until the morning.

I was locking up the house for the night and there was Bongo sitting at the Back door patiently waiting for his dinner. Just like nothing had happened.

He even let me get pretty close to him.

One week of hiding under a bed and hurling himself against the windows seem to be erased.
He is just happy to get some food and be close to the house.

He has been coming every night now to get food. and tonight he was sitting at the door after he ate looking inside.
Of course it always looks nicer on the other side of the door when you are a cat.

Hims a very hansum tuxseedo cat! So will Bongo be an "outdoor" family member, or are you trying to socialize him so he can be put up for adoption? (Sorry if you've addressed this in previous posts. I haven't been around the 'hood much lately).

Bongo will be an outdoor kitty with indoor privileges if he should so choose some time in the future once he is more used to us. I think at this stage HE is over a year old it would be impossible to get him to a point where he could be adopted out to a family, He is over a year old and may not ever get used to people.

He's so beautiful and wise looking. I'm so glad he calmed down and realized you're trying to help him. Thus the wisdom.
