Testing One Two Three September 7, 2010

So here I am, trying to find my way around this new blog site, and well darn it .. when I imported my stuff from Vox, everything got scrambled, and now I am going to have to go post by post, to fix them… all because I got all fancy with my Vox posts… anyway if you are just here and looking back at old posts.. just ignore the mess for the month of September 2010.
In the words of my darling Husband (whenever I try something new like food or moving furniture) “It’s new… It’s different… I DON”T LIKE IT!!!!!”
As with any new endeavors, I will learn how to use it and eventually I will like it. But for now…. Arrrrggggahhhh!
and now I am going to insert some pics just to get the hang of it.
Sometimes the grass isn't greener on the other side but we make due!
And well darn I am on my laptop so you have to make due with one of those stock photos

Okay that is it for the try out.
The good thing about this is that I think I figured out how to fix my other posts .. the bad thing is I think it is still going to take a bit of time to fix them all. Hopefully they aren’t all messed up.
I promise the next post will be from the kitties they have tons to post.

Hi from the ol’ waterbaby. See you made it. Steep learning curve here. The on-site support is excellent (not to mention superior to Vox). Avail yourself of the tutorial on the homepage and the Support page. Go to My Account (upper left) – Get Support. Lots there. Good luck. When I first came aboard, I did nothing for two days but fill my brain with the WP ways. Love it!
Hi Waterbaby… HEhehe I know I have been crusing around a bit but it came at the worst time possible as well I just styarted up college classes again so Eeek not enough time. Hope to get more sorted out this evening and then there is the family blog I still need to move today too.
THere are definately some aspects of Word press that I like more than Vox.
but of course it is all a new experience and as you say the learning curve for the WordPress way is steep.. but doable.

try not to fret about fixing old posts. the important thing is that you and them are out of the sinking ship.
best way to get a hang of the place besides the tutorials waterbaby mentioned, is just to write posts, add pictures, videos, etc. this is harder than VOX but also more rewarding in all the things you can do.
also give it a couple of days: the WP importer keeps on working quietly behind the scenes for a while longer putting pics in posts and stuff. check tomorrow.
Thanks Mariser I will do that.. I am fitzing with backgrounds too… I miss my old color scheme but I think I may be able to set one up myself.. LOL I guess I will be dusting off my HTML skills.
I think as I get the hang of it I will like the fac tthat there are more options.
ANd I have to figure out the blog roll thing still too.
The blogroll is easy. To add us to your blogroll, go to your Dashboard, Links, Add New. (copy paste our http://etc., and a name in the blanks, click the blue “Add Link” button in the far upper right.
To make your blogroll show up on your blog, go to your Dashboard, Appearance, Widgets. Scroll down the left-side column to “Links – your blogroll”, click and drag it up to the box in the far upper right.
